The Cessation Center at ArnotHeath has hired a new Program Coordinator, Amanda Domineske. Amanda comes to the Cessation Center with six years of teaching and supervisory experience. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and a Master's Degree in Education. Amanda will be attending her four day cessation certification training in March at the Boston Medical Center. She is excited about her new position and is looking forward to working on the Bureau of Tobacco Control (BTC) cessation initiatives. Cessations Centers provide New York's healthcare community with evidence-based education, training, and resources/services to treat their tobacco dependent patients to help them quit smoking successfully. These free services include: ? On-site staff training (individual or group) on topics such as: ? How to talk to patients about quitting smoking ? Effective motivational counseling techniques ? How to improve office practices to promote patient cessation success ? Pharmacotherapy treatments for tobacco dependence ? Patient education materials on a variety of topics related to smoking cessation ?
