Smoking kills 25,500 people every year in New York State. So while we have made significant progress in reducing the negative impact of tobacco use in New York, we still have much to do. On Tuesday, January 22, 2013, tobacco control partners from around the state will be in Albany hosting our 5th Annual Legislative Education Day. District Legislators will be able to:  enjoy coffee and a light snack  experience an interactive mock retail shop  watch “street theater” performances by Reality Check youth  learn what individuals and businesses across the state are doing to make New York a healthier place for all Tobacco use is still the single most preventable cause of death and disease in the Nation. New York’s tobacco control partners are working hard to change this reality through the implementation of our comprehensive prevention approach to saving lives and saving money.
