Tobacco companies know that our youth are their next generation of smokers. Retail stores are the main channel of communication for the tobacco industry, and they spend more money to market their product than the junk food, soda and alcohol industries combined. A total of $1.1 Million per day in NYS. The research shows that exposure to tobacco marketing in stores, such as colorful, well-lit cigarette displays at store registers, is a primary cause of youth smoking.
