Position Title:  STTAC Intern

 

Description:  The STTAC Intern will be responsible for:

 

· Writing and submitting letters to the editor and/or press releases for program initiatives

· Planning and delivering an event to recognize those businesses that have signed a policy

· Preparation and implementation of media/ social media related to program initiatives

·  Attend meetings as necessary

· Prepare records as required by the NYS Department of Health

· Assist with and/or carry out programs at health fairs and events

· Assist coordinators in other program delivery areas (Reality Check-youth programs and Community Engagement)

· Office infrastructure as needed

· Other responsibilities may be added depending on grant work plan goals and objectives

· Reports directly to the STTAC Director.

 

Qualifications:

 

       Required:

·          Student volunteer/intern MUST be a non-smoker

·          Must be 18 years of age

·          Must have own reliable transportation with valid NYS Drivers License

·          Must be able to work both independently and as a team

·          Must be passionate about STTAC initiatives

·          Must have excellent communication and presentation skills

 

       Preferred:

·          Experience working with decision makers and members of the community

·          Experience writing press releases and letters to the editor

·          Experience working with the media

·          Major in Health Education, Political Science, Human Services or Other Health related field
